About

I’m Andy Coombs, a fully qualified secondary mathematics teacher with over eight years’ classroom experience across KS3 and KS4, including time as Head of Maths.

I hold a first-class degree in Mathematics and I’m an NCETM-accredited Teaching for Mastery specialist. Sessions aren’t just about getting through homework. They’re built so students understand the maths and can use it with confidence.

After years in school, I now focus on personalised online tutoring. Safeguarding is a priority: I hold a Level 2 Safeguarding qualification and a current DBS check.

I work especially well with students who’ve lost confidence, helping them rebuild the basics, tackle problem-solving, and see maths as something they can do.

How Sessions Work

All lessons are online, so you get the same quality as face-to-face without the travel.

You’ll need a device for video calls, plus paper and a pen. Sessions use interactive whiteboards and live walkthroughs of exam-style questions, so students stay engaged and parents get a clear sense of progress.
